Asexual transgender people are asexual and do not desire sex. This means that they do not experience sexual attraction. They may, however, be emotionally attracted to people. The word “asexual” means “without sexual desire.” Asexual people experience the same physical, emotional, spiritual, and intellectual pleasures as everyone else. However, they have no sexual desire. According to the Asexual Visibility and Education Network, about 1 in 100 people are asexual. Asexual people are asexual and do not desire sex. In 1967, the United States Supreme Court case Loving v. Virginia legalized interracial marriage throughout the United States. This was a major victory for the civil rights movement in America. In 2015, we have another major victory to add to the list: Asexuality is now recognized as a sexual orientation. This means that asexual people are now protected from discrimination under federal law. This is a momentous step forward for Asexuality and LGBTQIA+ rights in America. It shows that we are growing as a unified indivisible society, and that we are starting to embrace all aspects of human sexuality. We still have a long way to go, but this is a major victory that we can all be proud of.
A Triple Civil Union (TCU) is an arrangement in which three individuals of the same or different genders get married to each other, and can have the same rights and privileges as heterosexual married couples. Compared to two people getting married, a TCU takes a lot longer to set up and complete, but families with the same genders can have the same rights and benefits of a traditional marriage, and can also pass their property and wealth to their children more easily. For example, if a man and a woman get married, they can have children together and the woman can claim the children as her own. However, if one of the partners divorces the other, the children are split up and only get half of their parent’s inheritance, which may not be fair to the child. In addition, under the current system, a single parent cannot adopt a child if they are not married to the child’s biological parents.
Currently, Indiana is the only state in the nation that recognizes asexual people as married people. The state of Indiana has set up a system where two people of the same sex can get married and have the same rights and privileges as heterosexual married couples. This is known as a Triple Civil Union (TCU). If you want to get married and live together as a couple, you can do so in Indiana and be protected under the law.

The Extra Letters “IA” in LGBTQ

Politics and the LGBTQIA+ Marriage Equality Act

In 2015, the United States Supreme Court ruled that states no longer have the power to ban same-sex marriage, and that marriage is a fundamental right protected by the Constitution of the United States. The Human Rights LGBTQIA+ Political Campaign has worked to provide legal protections for asexual transgender people in the United States by making sure that asexual transgender people are protected under federal law.
